Daniel Vasta is a freelance visual journalist based out of southern New Jersey, located 30 minutes from Philadelphia and Wilmington. Previously, Vasta interned at The Herald in Jasper, Indiana, and the Kalamazoo Gazette/MLive.com in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In May 2018, he graduated with a BFA in photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Vasta seeks to celebrate daily life and is driven to call attention to social issues through his work. He is often drawn to misunderstood and marginalized communities, where he hopes his intimate visual storytelling may help facilitate a compassionate dialogue for greater understanding and empathy.
